Clare Prosser was first woman home for the Harriers at the tough Hestercombe Humdinger road race at the weekend, finishing 14^th overall in a brilliant time of 63.03 for the 9.5 mile course. Nathan Baker was next in for the Hariers in 73.22 with Samantha Baker not far behind in 74.17. Nick Edwards finished in 81.16 and Jenny Adams in 1.49. Prosser’s time augurs well for her London Marathon preparations where she looks to go well again  to try and beat her personal best of 2.56 for the full marathon course. The next race in the Somerset Series is at Babcary on Sunday Feb 27th.

In the accompanying Hestercombe Hurtle race over 5k there was another female winner from the Harriers when Rebecca Carver had a great run to be 1st girl home in 21.40. Sam Harding was 4th overall with 20.26, and Hayley Carver was 22nd in 25.43 in the field of 81 runners.
