

One of these international athletes Wells life member Luke Prior led out the club’s Senior Men’s ‘A’ team on the first leg in a great time of 15.25. (This was a new course record over the tough 5k course, which was then broken twice more in the following heats) After this great start the rest of the Wells Senior men’s ‘A’ team Zak Hurrell on leg 2, Chris Green on leg 3 and Sam Somerville on leg 4 achieved second place overall in a very competitive senior field. The U20 mens 'A' team were first in their category, the Senior women's team were 3rd in their category.

BALTONSBOROUGH 5 MILE AND JUNIOR ROAD RACES
The Bank Holiday Monday saw the annual Baltonsborough 5 mile and shorter junior races that take place over a scenic undulating road course around the village. The Baltonsborough race is supported by Wells City Harriers and this year celebrated its 25th anniversary.

On another warm day 108 runners lined up at the start of the main 5 mile race including 11 members from Wells. Chris Walker was first home for Wells and second overall despite having also ran for the Senior Men’s ‘B’ team at Cleeve the day before! Club super vet Steve Master was first V50 home in 6th place. While in the shorter 1.5 mile Junior race u15 Harrison William’s (Another member of the William’s clan) came second overall despite also having run at Cleeve the day before! While u15 Isabelle Walker was first female home in 5th place. Regular Monday night Junior Leyton Finn was 6th and the club’s youngest supporter Noah Foley was 19th.
