Wells City Harrier member, Kay Franklin, was Race Director at the Baltonsborough Christmas Pudding Race this past Sunday (12th December) and she set the 50 or so runners taking part on their way around the 5 mile undulating road race. Every participant was awarded a Christmas Pudding at the finish and some entered into the spirit of the charity event by dressing in festive gear.

Matt Lusby of the Harriers won in 27.48 with Mike Cowell, 2nd in 27.51, and u17 Harrison Williams of the Harriers in 3rd, 28.00. Gill Pearson of the Running For Time Club was 1st for the women in 32.19, with Vicky Scrowston (Yeovil Town) 2nd in 35.47, and Emma Powell of Street Striders 3rd in 36.56. TRAINING with the Harriers  - over Xmas & Covid alert...

The final Monday (juniors 8-15) and Tuesday (older juniors & seniors 14-84) before Xmas will take place on the 20th and 21st December at the usual times and then we resume Harrier training sessions in the New Year on Monday 3rd & Tuesday 4th January.

Watch this space, as they say, for any updates on training in case we have to change the format or structure for Harrier training in the light of any new Covid-19 Guidance from England Athletics.

We are also conscious that Millfield School may impose different restrictions if they see a spike in Covid-19 cases, especially after the Xmas break….in the light of this, if necessary, the Club will revise its Risk Assessment which guides how the Club’s volunteer coaches manage our sessions.

All taking part at Harrier sessions should be either 1st claim or 2nd claim members as we can’t have folk turning up casually and all should register on the evening in case we need to contact folk.

We currently have 5 second claim members of other Clubs training with us on a Tuesday eve.

Obviously if any member has any symptoms of Covid-19 or is 'under the weather' in any sense they should not attend training. Don't train with any kind of virus.
