Wells City Harriers

The recent Easter Bunny 10km race on the 9^th April organised by Yeovil Town Road Runners from Yeovilton airbase saw a large field of entrants of close to 400 competing, with rapid finishing times coming from the leading pack.

Outright winner Kevin Heywood from Bideford AAC clocked 30.19 min/secs and was well clear of the chasing pack.

For Wells Harriers it was the juniors that outshone the seniors with some outstanding performances from leading Harriers Oliver Fox, Philip Bridge and Charlie Martin placed 1^st, 2^nd & 3^rd juniors.  Fox’s 34.23 placed him 12^th overall with Bridge and Martin closely matched in 29^th (36.56) and 31^st (37.08) positions.

Veteran Clive Harwood (V60 49^th place) continues to clock impressive 10k times.  His 38.26 brought him the V60 1^st award.  Just ahead of Harwood were Paul Maskell and Tom Dukes who finished 32^nd (37.08), & 35^th (37.38) respectively. For Paul that shows his consistent good running whilst for Tom that was a huge improvement on his previous best, and follows up a recent good performance at the half-marathon distance. Both are regulars at the Club's Tuesday evening training sessions

Other results saw top 100 finishes for Club coaches Pete Darton 74^th (40.02) and V50 Graham Goldsmid 85^th (40.49).

Katerina Prior FV35 was the leading female Harrier 123^rd, 43.09; Martin Bailey 126^th, 43.29: Carol Buckland FV45 151^st, 44.47: Samantha Baker FV35 177^th, 46.29; Adrian Bridge MV40 194^th, 47.20: Catherine Goldsmid 220^th 50.03: Hayley Carver 253^rd 53.05: Pat Challis 280^th 55.08: Melanie Maskell 329^th 59.26: Julia Dukes 334^th 59.46.
