SWALLOW, a small registered UK charity (based in Midsomer Norton, Somerset), supports people with learning disabilities and has guaranteed places in the Bath Half Marathon taking place on the 11th March 2012. All they ask is that you pay a reduced entry fee of £25 (normally £39) and then try to raise a minimum of £175 for their charity.
SWALLOW (or South West Action for Learning and Living Our Way) supports people with learning disabilities throughout the South West in a way that enhances social skills, teaches independent living skills and enriches the lives of members. All of this is done through a program of activities that range from cookery and drama, to football and horticulture; in addition to providing supported housing and building skills and experience for employment. To continue extending our reach across the local area and providing all of the activities they are continuously looking for funds. In running the Bath Half Marathon for them, all monies raised would be going to make a real difference to local vulnerable people.
