Lucy Baldwin is a National Champion!
Lucy Baldwin from near Shepton Mallet competed at the National Prep Schools Championships at Alexander Stadium to win the 1500m race in 5.09.
This was a new personal best for Lucy and follows up a great year when she has also won the Somerset XC Championships & South West XC Championships for u13s, and won the Street Junior Series 2010/11. Lucy started training with the Harriers Monday group 12 months ago and has been a regular in the Endurance group looked after by Graham Goldsmid. At School she has some great XC coaching from Harrier Nick Somerville.Lucy also has two talented older brothers who train with the Harriers on a Tuesday and compete for the Harriers at u15 level.
Lucy’s time of 5.09 is good enough for her to be the 2nd fastest athlete on the power of ten rankings this season for the SW region. Well done Lucy!
